FAITH

I was lucky enough to grow up in a Christian home, but this does not mean life was perfect. My struggles as a child, teen and yes, an adult has thankfully brought me back to my Savior, and therefore my faith has helped me get through the hard days.Jeremiah 30:17 “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord”

FOOD

AIP, Paleo, Gaps, Wahls, Whole 30, Intermittent fasting and more! What healing diet is best for you? It is all so confusing, especially for those of us trying to heal from autoimmune disease. I started my food and diet research back in December of 2013 because I did not want to take the handful of medication every day for the rest of my life. In February of 2014 I jumped in with both feet and never looked back. I have learned that food plays a major role in healing this disease. This new way of eating is delicious and fun, but the most important result is you will feel great and heal!

LIFESTYLE

We live in a in a hectic and stressful world!  It seems success is based on all the wrong things these days. Working 10-hour days, sitting on our bottoms in front of a computer, picking up dinner at the fast food drive thru, running the kids to their many activities (and trying to get homework done) and surrounded by chemicals inside and outside our homes. I try and admittingly with great success “most” of the time to remove stress, unhealthy food and rid chemicals from my home. This did not happen overnight, it took months of research and educating myself on what worked for me. Elimination diet, Food testing, essential oils, CBD oil, LDN, yoga, meditation, getting out in nature, light exercise, etc. The list is long and my goal is to help others understand what options are out there for a healthy lifestyle. Stress creates flares in autoimmune disease, this disease feeds on stress!

DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor or a nutritionist. I’m just a woman who has been on a healing journey with faith, food and support being the 3 things I believe that have helped me turn my illness into healthiness. Our choices we make are very important. Those choices can affect our health positively or negatively by the food we eat, the support around us and our lifestyle. I am very driven to take care of myself after being diagnosed with overlapping autoimmune diseases. The internet has been a wonderful tool for me. It has helped me find others who have healed through diet and lifestyle. This blog has been a dream of mine. It will be a place where I can continue to heal, while helping others to heal as well. My journey has been so incredible, and I want to share what I have learned with others through my experiences. Each person will experience healing in different ways. Results will vary from person to person, and nothing I write here is a replacement for medical advice. May you be blessed through this as much as I know I will be.
